BANK PO - Explained

PO is the acronym (short form) of "Probationary Officer".

Bank PO is one of the most sought after profession after college offering an attractive career as well as salary.

After Banking Services Recruitment Board (BSRB) was made non-existent, the only window that remained to enter into this well sought career was Probationary Officers (PO) Exams conducted by individual banks.

Banks induct eligible graduates by this exam for training for a probational period of two years. Different Banks recruit probationary officers during different period in the year. Students has to keep a  watch on the notifications of various banks and should be alert on applying promptly.

In any bank, Bank Probationary Officer (PO) is a post with good profile and work content. Candidates are recruited as bank PO after clearing the Bank PO Exam conducted by the respective bank. So it all depends on the performance in the exam, the better you perform, higher is the probability to cut through the competition.

A PO can be asked to do any Banking Operations job till the time of completion of his probation period. After the confirmation i.e. after two years he/she is handed over the responsibility of one or many tasks related to banking ranging from routine work like posting, passing, scrolling or advances or jobs like that.
